‘Problem – Reaction – Solution’ and the Coronavirus

So, what is the ‘Problem – Reaction – Solution’ that I used in the title of this post?

(For the philosophers among you, it’s also known as the Hegelian Dialectic – ‘Thesis – Antithesis – Synthesis’)

It is an age-old tool used by those in power to manipulate the people, to control them and to take away their freedoms. It enables the elite to do this with the agreement of the very people they are controlling. Not only the agreement of the people, but the demands of the people which are whipped up by the media.

Problem – Reaction – Solution

Those in power cause a ‘Problem’ in society. They then put the blame elsewhere and use the media to inflame the people, to enrage them and to induce fear, until the people demand action from the authorities (this is the Reaction). Then those in power produce the ‘Solution’, which always involves taking away the freedoms and civil rights of the people in the name of keeping them safe. It also involves taking money from the people to give to the rich.

This process enables those in power to bring about changes that would never have been acceptable under normal circumstances.

Also notice that when things have returned to normal, the ‘temporary’ powers deployed during the crisis are never repealed – things never return to what they were before. Try going through an airport as you once could.

It would seem that the Solution is in answer to the Reaction of the people, but this is not the case – it’s the other way around. The Solution is predetermined – it is the desired agenda of those in power and is used to design the Problem so that the outcome of the Solution is guaranteed.

Hitler’s Nazi Reichmarshall and Luftwaffe Chief Hermann Goering is quoted as saying, “Naturally, the common people don’t want war … But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship or a Parliament or a Communist dictatorship…  Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.”

President George W. Bush said after the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Centre when people questioned the US reaction to the attack, “You are either with us or you are with the terrorists.”

“Never let a good crisis go to waste”

(This quote is attributed to Churchill but was originally “Never waste the opportunity offered by a good crisis” attributed to Machiavelli.)

Sometimes the crisis (Problem) referred to above is not engineered by those in power. A crisis can occur as a random event, but then those in power will seize on the event and use it to further their agenda using the same tool, by engineering the Reaction and applying the Solution.

The point to note here is that the Solution is always the same – Power and Control.

“Problem – Reaction – Solution” in practice – some examples

9/11

Whether you believe that the attacks on the World Trade Centre on 9/11 were by Osama Bin Laden or were an inside job is irrelevant. The result was used by the US government to justify the ‘War on Terror’, to wage war on Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as many other Middle East states and to convince the American people to give up their rights and freedoms in exchange for their supposed safety.

Weapons of Mass Destruction

In 2003 General Colin Powell, US Secretary of Defence, lied to the United Nations stating that Iraq was hiding weapons of mass destruction. He did this in order to legitimise the Iraq war. He was supported in this lie by the UK Prime Minister (War criminal) Tony Blair.

Iran

We are seeing the same lies being told to the UN by US and UK delegates as regards Iran after the US pulled out of the nuclear agreement (JCPOA).

Other ‘false flag’ attacks – (Problems)

Hitler and the burning of the German Parliament (Reichstag) blamed on the communists in Germany leading to their persecution.

Operation Himmler (less often known as Operation Konserve or Operation Canned Goods) was a 1939 false flag project planned by Nazi Germany to create the appearance of Polish aggression against Germany, which was subsequently used by the Nazis to justify the invasion of Poland. This included staging false attacks on themselves using innocent people or concentration camp prisoners. Operation Himmler was arguably the first act of the Second World War in Europe invasion of Poland in WW11 . Wikipedia

Nero and the burning of Rome, blamed on the Christians

The Gulf of Tonkin incident leading to the Vietnam war

I could go on and on

Coronavirus

I hear you ask, ‘What has the Coronavirus got to do with Problem – Reaction – Solution?’

Maybe nothing. Maybe something. Maybe a lot. I don’t know and nor do you.

Am I suggesting that the virus was deliberately released from a biological research centre perhaps in Wuhan, China?

No. I’m not, but it could have been.

Or could the US have been responsible – or the UK.

As above, this is irrelevant. Let’s look at the parallels.

Here we have a Problem – a very serious one – which has caused a massive world-wide Reaction, demanding that THEY do something. There will almost certainly be civil unrest, leading to cries from the people demanding action to make them safe, possibly leading to martial law.

The Solution

Lock down of vast areas and vast numbers of people.

Restriction of freedom of assembly

Restriction of freedom to travel

Economic collapse enabling governments to introduce draconian measures which the people will support

Excuse to control the internet

The establishment of ‘fact checking’ facilities by internet operators such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. etc whereby any information posted on their sites which contradicts or criticises the ‘powers that be’ will be deemed to be false information , fake news and will be taken down without good reason or recourse

Excuse to implement ban on paper and coin currency (cash transactions) thus increasing the use of electronic money which is totally traceable. This would enable governments to basically close the black economy down, i.e. ‘cash in hand’ transactions on which taxes are not paid

Blank cheques from governments to Big Pharma to develop vaccines which will be worth billions to those same pharmaceutical companies in the future

Bail outs for businesses even those which would not have survived before this crisis. While this may seem reasonable, these bailouts seldom reach the workers. The bank bailouts in the 2008 global recession were kept by the banks instead of providing loans to businesses which would have boosted the economy. Instead it enabled banks to buy back shares in their banks, and boosted the bonuses of the CEOs of the banks

Bail outs for workers and others, paying wages and salaries even though production and the normal economy wasn’t functioning, so that when the emergency is resolved, the workers could restore the economy quickly

Possible implementation of Universal Basic Income – more control

Conclusion

The irony is that for the control of the spread of the coronavirus, the above measures seem reasonable and necessary. That wouldn’t be a problem if we could be sure that once the emergency was over, these powers would be repealed and our freedoms and civil rights restored.

History teaches us that this never happens. Even if these measures are lifted when (if) the crisis is over, these powers will be held ‘in limbo’ so that they can be reinstated instantly, whenever deemed necessary, without the scrutiny of elected representatives…

To the elite, this virus could be a godsend.

I am not saying that these are the motives of the various governments throughout the world, but we, the people, must be aware that it will be very tempting for those in power to hold on to these measures for possible future use against us.
